XXX Manifestos Encore Presentation!

Ticket Prices:
$10 advance, $12 at door

Following a capacity screening in January at Anthology Film Archives, Stigma Unbound is presenting an encore of the XXX Manifestos screening just in time for Valentine’s Day at Catland Books!

XXX MANIFESTOS is a program of indie xxx films, docs about porno, and a couple of porno-adjacent experimental films to round out the program. What they have in common is that they really "make a statement" about sexuality, desire, and spectatorship. Contributors to this program include Aorta Films, Arabelle Raphael, Allie Oops, Cam Damage, and a host of others. This program was originally presented as part of the “Cinema of Transgression: Trans Film” series guest-curated by Joey Carducci at Anthology Film Archives.

Profits from this event will be donated to a New York City sex worker organization (to be announced).

REGULAR PROGRAMMING
2017, 3 min, dir. Kelsey S. Brewer
Juxtaposed against the innocent charm of the surrounding room and a wooden rocking horse, the desire for freedom manifests itself through a woman’s masturbatory actions. Viewers are made voyeurs by the camera’s gaze as it slowly zooms in from across the room, and windows reveal the potential for her to be noticed from outside. The video cuts between the intimate scene and footage of a horse race - fighting to censor the unabashed content, and suggesting that societal and self-censorship are inescapable qualities of adulthood.

FUCK WORK
2015, 12 mins, dir. Jessie Jeffrey Dunn Rovinelli
Identity and performance, resistance and submission, and monotony and quiet rage crash into one another in this clear-eyed vision of a lesbian working as a professional dominatrix with a police officer as a regular client.
