Bushwick Native Plant Walk

Please join Catland Books & Co-Owner Melissa Madara for an exciting exploration of Bushwick's local flora! Come for a leisurely stroll through our neighborhood and learn to identify, harvest, and forage the many flowers, plants, and trees that can be found in Bushwick! We'll also be discussing invasive species, plant folklore, and the medicinal properties of the plants we encounter. 

Please wear comfortable shoes & clothing suitable for being outside. It is reccomended that you bring water along as well. 

$15 per student // Class limited to 25 students

Melissa Jayne Madara is an herbalist, a storyteller, and a witch. Her practice draws largely from the folk magic of her parents (Croatian & Pennsylvania Dutch), and incorproates her work in mythology, Jungian psychology, wilderness survival, apothecary sciences, divination, and trance work. She currently serves as the co-owner and garden manager at Catland Books, as well as the editrix of Catland's premiere publication, Venefica Magazine. Follow her on instagram at @saint.jayne
