Come join Khepri Press and Catland Books in celebrating the publication and release of The Emerald Tablet by Brian Cotnoir.
The Emerald Tablet, a brief alchemical work attributed to Hermes Trismegistus, is one of the root texts of alchemy.
This publication is a collection of new translations by Brian Cotnoir of the earliest extant Arabic and Latin versions with accompanying essay and commentary.
The Emerald Tablet is not only a fresh contribution to alchemical studies, it is also an example of book art at its finest. Bound in two limited editions of leather and silk, the book draws on the elements of Islamic and Western sacred geometry in the overall design, typesetting and especially in the two cover emblems.
Brian Cotnoir, author of Alchemy: A Weiser's Concise Guide, is an independent scholar, researcher, and artist who has written on alchemy and presented seminars and workshops around the world on various aspects of the art.
The reception starts at 7:00pm with a brief talk at 7:30 on The Emerald Tablet and its significance and meanings with the reception to continue.
Copies of The Emerald Tablet will be available along with other works by Brian Cotnoir.
