History, Art, and Magick of the Thoth Tarot & Aleister Crowley's Book of Thoth With Lon Milo DuQuette & Jim Wasserman


Join authors Lon Milo DuQuette and Jim Wasserman at Catland for an afternoon of exploration Aleister Crowley’s Book of Thoth and the Thoth Tarot.

Author Lon Milo DuQuette will dive deep into the magical work of Aleister Crowley in general and Crowley's tarot masterpiece in particular in conjunction with Weiser’s facsimile publication of its 1969 edition of The Book of Thoth.  Lon will also discuss his new edition of Understanding the Aleister Crowley Thoth Tarot, which he describes as "the book I wish I'd read before trying to understand The Book of Thoth and the Thoth Tarot."

Jim Wasserman will discuss the creation of the second edition of the Thoth Tarot for Weiser Books and US Games in 1977. This was the first professionally produced publication of the cards after 1969-70. Wasserman will share personal magical memories of high drama and explain the technical aspects of the photography and rights clearances required for the project. Wasserman will also share reflections on O.T.O. history and the current state of the Thoth Tarot.

Admission is free, but space is limited in Catland's event space. Attendees who purchase a copy of Understanding the Aleister Crowley Thoth Tarot through this event page will have their seat reserved. All other attendees may check in at the door for available seats on a first come / first serve basis.
